Située à 14 km au sud de Paris sur le plateau de Longboyau, en pleine agglomération parisienne, Wissous est contigüe à trois départements : elle est en effet limitrophe de Fresnes et Rungis (département du Val-de-Marne) au nord, d’Antony (département des Hauts-de-Seine) et Massy à l’ouest, de Chilly-Mazarin et Morangis au sud et de Paray-Vieille-Poste à l’est (ces dernières étant situées dans le département de l’Essonne).

Un quart de la superficie de Wissous est occupé par l’aéroport d’Orly, deuxième aéroport de Paris.
